Dear All,
As Spring rapidly approaches and Easter fills our horizon, I wanted to update you on our latest project here in Eastbourne.
We felt the need to add to our Easter offerings, having already used two of the three Easter assemblies from “It’s Jesus”, Chrissie and I put in some extra planning hours and commissioned Sarah Horne to produce one more illustration for the series. Her pictures have been so well received in our schools, giving children the chance to reflect on the person of Jesus, what he taught, what he did, prompting deep questions about what it might mean to them.
We are now putting the final touches to a new worship assembly: 'Jesus Cooks Breakfast' which we will be delivering in and around Eastbourne. We will of course also be sharing it with the wider Spinnaker team so that up to 80 schools and 17,000 children can have the chance to hear the Apostle John’s account of this amazing beach BBQ, and think about healthy, physical, mental and spiritual ways to start the day.
'Jesus Cooks Breakfast' is available to download from our website here, along with all our other resources. You are more than welcome to use any of them in church, at home or anywhere else you can think of!
We could not carry out this ministry in schools without God’s grace and provision and the generous contribution of volunteers and supporters. I would therefore like to invite you to consider sponsoring our Easter assembly. If you would like to give towards the production and delivery of this or any other assembly in the series please follow the link below.
In the run up to Easter, we will be setting up a prayer space in a library at the heart of one of our schools. Children will be invited to journey thought the events of Holy Week, to pause and reflect at the foot of the cross, to give thanks, say sorry and to take away a reminder of Jesus’ love. Please pray with us that the Holy Spirit would fill the space and that children and staff would be impacted by their encounters.
Finally if you would like to get involved by helping to set up, run or lead an after school club, prayer space, assembly or RE lesson do get in touch by phone, text or email or click here.
Many thanks for your prayers and support,
Sam & The Eastbourne Team
