Dear Friends,
It’s been a busy term in the Lambeth and Southwark Hub and now we are getting ready for Christmas.
It is a real privilege to share the Christmas story with children and again this year the knitted nativity set has been coming into school to illustrate the story. We have been wondering about the reality that God includes us in the birth of his son. There were so many different people touched by Jesus’ birth. We are encouraged to be inclusive and invite others in to share our lives.

This week I have had the pleasure of being joined by Clare Gardner who helped with the assembly. Having somebody join me in School is a real encouragement and it is good for the children to see some different faces. Nathan White from Stockwell Baptist Church has also come into school with me. If anybody else out there would like to volunteer to come into school with me – it is really rewarding.
I have been visiting an average of 8 schools a week. Most of them want me back next term. I get such lovely comments. A year 2 teacher told me just this week that the children in her class love my lessons (they are 6 and 7) and one week when I visited on Thursday instead of Monday two of the children said ‘where is Miss Heather,’ on the Monday afternoon when I didn’t arrive. I love the way children smile when I arrive. A little girl took great pains to explain to me that she used to attend another school I visit when I saw her in school on Tuesday. A Church of England school asked if I could lead an assembly on a certain date so I could be present for a Siams visit, when they are inspected for the impact of their Christian vision on pupils and adults in the school, and they filmed me doing the assembly!
How can you support me? Financial support is always gratefully received to help us serve schools. I can always use volunteers perhaps to come into school or to help organize a fundraiser. Prayer is at the backbone of everything we do. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16 NIV. Please pray for me that God will open the doors in schools for me and that the right people will come forward to help me in school.
